Docc Hilford A Life Between Worlds

Docc Hilford’s spiritual journey began when he was just eight years old, trying to contact Abraham Lincoln in the dark of a closet. By eleven, he was channeling a spirit named Zeus and offering messages to other children—for the price of candy. That early connection to the unseen never left him. But instead of following a single path, Docc walked many—sometimes all at once.

He lived among Navajo medicine men. He studied medieval metaphysics and child development. He earned a Doctorate of Divinity, studied Kadampa Buddhist philosophy and received the Vajrapani empowerment, ordained as a Voudon Priest, and eventually served as assistant pastor in a Jamaican Pentecostal church. Across every tradition, one truth remained: spirit is real, and it speaks.

But here’s where Docc’s path is unique. In his twenties, he became a stage performer—a mentalist and magician, creating powerful illusions and mind-reading effects that amazed audiences across the country. His creations were used by performers like Penn & Teller and David Blaine. But even then, he was clear: theatrical magic is not spiritual truth.

That distinction became his mission when he was invited to join the Royal Society for Psychical Investigation in London, where he investigated and exposed false prophets and fraudulent psychics who preyed on the vulnerable. Docc’s ability to understand the tools of deception made him the perfect protector of truth—and a fierce advocate for genuine spiritual work.

His performances entertained, but his calling was always deeper. At age 30, he heard Spirit clearly say: “You will help thousands.” And he has. Through one-on-one readings, prison ministry, healing circles, and now as founder of the Temple of the Divine Message, Docc offers real, grounded spiritual guidance with compassion, clarity, and truth.
